I have recently presented at the Nursing and Midwifery Conference in Newcastle on ‘The Value of Innovation in Shaping Healthcare’.
In my keynote, I shared my own journey as a stroke survivor, focusing largely on my dual insight as a provider & recipient. Throughout the session I emphasised the value of innovation in shaping healthcare and strengthening our person-centred approaches. I also stressed the importance of including one’s lived experience in enhancing both the effectiveness of their roles and intervention, and also the experience of all those that receive their care.
