I’m feeling utterly exhausted today.

Not sure whether it’s due to sleep deprivation, Melbourne’s freezing weather or the aftermath of my busier schedule of late.Whatever the culprit,  a day of complete self-care was definitely needed. However, this self-care was only possible because those close to me enabled it. A sunny walk and eating yummy scones with my mum and sister followed by a swim to emotionally and physically manage my pain and well-being was exactly what I needed.

So often, it’s easy to feel guilty and frustrated with ourselves for needing to attend to our own needs. In fact, often we don’t prioritise this and not only negatively impact our productivity but others as well. Sometimes we need a nudge from another to gain perspective and begin to prioritise our own needs.

How can you enable another to take time-out?
