There’s so much that people with a disability already have to overcome in participating and feeling included in society. Factoring in accessible standards and ensuring universal design that benefits everyone is vital.
I know firsthand the extra challenges in my day because my environment is not accessible. From heavy doors, inappropriate positioning of rails to ramps at horrific gradients leading to a staircase.
Listen to this conversation to hear people with a disability relay so many stories where things have really inhibited their access & optimal participation in society.
