20 years on from my stroke recovery and tonight reminded me just how powerful teamwork can be.
My annual physiotherapy review where my whole physio team came to my home to review where I’m at, discuss what’s working, what’s challenging, and map out a plan for the months ahead together.
As I wrote in my book,
“It felt so good when they’re working with me rather than for me.”
Reinventing Emma, page 139
And that feeling never loses its impact.

Knowing I have this support network behind me as I carry out the weekly monotonous exercise regime is incredibly empowering and reassuring.

Recovery isn’t just about exercises and appointments. It’s about feeling heard, included and understood.
Two decades into this journey, the collaborative approach matters more than ever. It sustains my motivation, builds trust, and ultimately helps make every day that little bit easier.
The power of people working together should never be underestimated.
