A year 12 student asked after my presentation, “Was writing your book awful in remembering everything in your journey or helpful?”
Here’s my response -” Writing my book was both so grueling but extremely therapeutic. Reflecting on a difficult time on your life & the impact it had on others is not easy. However, when I was in a better mindset to do this, it gave me such closure. It helped me better process everything and stop and reflect on what I’d overcome. As a result, I was better able to accept what I couldn’t change and change what I could. Begin to ‘reinvent myself’. It also enabled me to draw on my observations to hopefully enable people in their own futures! ”
Is there something ‘awful’ in your past that you can draw on in your future to not only empower yourself but also others?
